Head of ERP required to join one of Suffolk's success stories. My client provides high-quality premium products to a global audience with a history that goes back decades, still family owned and managed with the same strive for excellence that has propelled their brand and products to be highly coveted in the luxury/premium sectors of their marketplace; they have attracted some of the best talents in the region and a reputation envied by their competitors. To be shortlisted candidates will need to display a solid understanding of managing a similarly sized infrastructure (120 users) with a specific knowledge of ERP / CRM implementation and solution delivery. The role is likely to be varied and wide reaching with a level of complexity that may not be evident from this advert but the bespoke/premium nature of my clients' offering makes them a very unique and challenging environment to provide solutions for. A proven track record gained from a range of manufacturing environments or within one organisation that has gone through rapid transformation driven by technology will be required. ERP Knowledge preferably Microsoft Dynamics (Nav) but alternative products (Syspro, Harmony, SAP etc.) would be considered an understanding of 3rd party integrations and their associated API's and how they tie in to Dynamics (or similar) is an essential element to this role to include Costing, scheduling, Bill of materials, Engineering, Capacity, Workflow management, Quality control, Product life cycle and Supply Chain. Technology in recent years has played a key part in the companies success and the company owner recognises the value it brings. eCommerce now accounts for 60% of their revenue and they have invested heavily in the latest eCommerce, ERP, CRM and cloud based technologies ensuring their online platform is market leading and operations are supported. They are keen to leverage technology to continue the companies growth and repeat the successes they have seen in the past five years. A large degree of these recent projects were managed through third parties or by the company owner, something he is keen to address by appointing a strategic level individual reporting directly into him to manage the companies technology platforms with an emphasis on the companies Microsoft Dynamics (Nav) ERP solution, which is still in its infancy and requires a skilled ERP professional to move forward. The successful candidate will be joining the company as part of their senior management team, they will benefit from joining the company at a period of continued growth and the support that comes from a company owner who understands the potential IT offers and will invest accordingly. A high degree of autonomy exists in this role and you will be tasked with not only operation BAU tasks but actually driving change and innovation. It will take a strong communicator with a breadth of technical knowledge and commercial awareness to do justice to this role. The top line brief for this position is to work closely with the entire company, understanding how they work, identifying potential risks and opportunities where technology can be utilised to either mitigate risk to provide an operational advantage. The position will be very visible within the company and excellent listening, written and verbal skills will be required. The first months of your appointment are likely to see you carrying out a complete audit of the companies processes and existing IT infrastructure, engaging with department managers, end users and 3rd party suppliers/consultants to build a thorough knowledge of the companies operations. From here you will provide recommendations to the board as to where improvements can be made or where risks need to be addressed. This role still requires a high degree of technical understanding though the need for a commercial mindset alongside that technical skills set should be apparent. You will have one direct report who manages the client side IT support duties, the Cloud based nature of their infrastructure limits the number of physical assets on site but an appreciation of Network protocols, DR, Cyber Security, BYOD and other IT fundamentals will be required to ensure this is factored into your IT strategy.
