The Farm:
This is a family farm with 600 milking cows milked 3 times a day on a brand new green field site, and 500 youngstock.

It is a dynamic and fast-moving place to work and many members of our team have been with us a long time, head herdsman 8 years, Farm foreman 11 years, assistant farm manager 7 years, head yard man 9 years, to give you a flavour. The position will be available immediately

The Role:
The role is mixed and would predominantly within the dairy team, milking, herd health and care, with basic tractor duties associated with the dairy, scrapping, around the yards with the straw chopper, cleaning out youngstock buildings, slurry spreading, potential fieldwork during Silage making and planting of Maize and 400 acres of Wheat.
With the rest of the time doing various maintenance tasks around the farms.

The Applicant:
Any milking is milking on a rota basis.

Hours would be 60 a week with one day off every week. Regular staff meetings held over breakfast and appraisals undertaken by a consultant every 6 months.

Accommodation:
This is a shared 5 bedroom house with 4 others, but shortly be moving into 3 NEW 2 bedroom flats on the new farm.

Additional Info:

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
