Public Health Commissioning Manager

A Public Health Commissioning manager is required by my client based in the South East of England, to work within the Public Health Service. This will be an initial 6 month posting with a strong possibility for an extension.

The role of this job is to be the strategic lead for commissioning and delivery of drug, alcohol and substance misuse services, and the successful applicant will work in partnership with the Clinical Commissioning Group as well as community safety and service providers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the operational delivery of the agreed programmes to deliver timely, cost effective and innovative solutions for all aspects of public health.

The responsibilities of this senior role will include:
-Delivering commissioning, procurement and management within the Public Health Services
-Overseeing the process of financial management
-Effective evidence building and user engagement
-Leading management teams to support colleagues and staff

To be considered for this role, programme and project management experience is an essential requirement, as well as a detailed understanding of the public health sector. Commissioning experience within a local authority is also required.
