My client, a growing Local Authority in Kent are looking for a Planning Support Officer to join their team to deliver timely and accurate Planning Support activities to client Planning Authorities.
You will be joining as a Planning Support Officer in a growing team who deal with one of the highest number of applications in the county, with an exciting range of major projects coming through, you will be expected to answer advanced technical level enquiries from internal and external customers.
Duties for Planning Support Officer:
* Advise directly to officers and customers on appropriate plans and other illustrative material submitted with applications
* Take ownership of and resolve issues arising with the current databases within the Service and GIS computer systems.
* Deal with amendments/additional information including complex amendments on Majors
* Take ownership of an appeal and resolve client queries on appeal processing in liaison with PINs
* To fully validate applications, (excluding significant majors) and complete all stages, in accordance with procedures to include checking the fee, consultees, neighbours and advert/site notices.
* To communicate with applicant or agent by emails/phone or letter with reasons of invalidity of application
In order to be successful for the Planning Support Officer position you must have extensive experience of working in a planning support environment, and hold a good understanding of legislation relating to appeals process and different appeal types.
The client will be looking to pay between GBP8.50-13.00 per hour for the successful Planning Support Officer and would be looking for somebody to start as soon as possible.
