Hatchery Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for Hatchery Supervisor at our Hatchery in Ower, Southampton.

As a Hatchery Supervisor you will assist the Hatchery Manager and Assistant Manager with the day to day running of the hatchery and to supervise the chick take off and the transfer of eggs from the setting machines to the hatching machines and to ensure they are functioning to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities of a Hatchery Supervisor

* To ensure that the hatchery equipment is set up correctly, is being operated safely and is cleaned to a high standard after use.

* To ensure that during chick take off chicks are sorted into the required grades, in the required quantities ready for delivery

* To be responsible for the effective transfer of eggs from the setting machines to the hatching machines.

* To liaise with the delivery drivers, Hatchery managers and Hatchery operators.

* Ensure you work within the Health and Safety legislation

* To liaise with the site management in order to perform sundry duties as required

* All equipment and personnel in a clean and tidy condition

* To conform with the hatchery's SOPs and make certain operators are wearing the correct PPE

PERFOMANCE MEASUREMENTS

* To keep management regularly informed of the performance and

* To immediately inform management of potential problems and hazards and any deviations from standards.

* Adherence to Health & safety procedures at all times

* Timely reporting of hazards and Defects to Hatchery manager or Assistant managers

As a Hatchery Supervisor you will have good people and communication skills, training will be provided in specifics of the role. Must be results driven and have the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues. You will have a positive attitude to work and be reliable. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be a good motivator. Previous supervisory experience is essential, preferably within agriculture. However full training will be provided.
