Are you looking for an exciting career opportunity within Estates and Facilities? Ayrshire College is currently looking to recruit Campus Assistants to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join a team, and organisation which make a valuable contribution to our learner’s experience. So whether you have previous experience in a janitorial/porterage role, or are looking to start your career in this area, if you know your fixtures from your fittings, read on as this could be the job for you!

In this role you will support the Estates Team Leader to deliver a high-quality janitorial service, ensuring that the College and its grounds are maintained to the highest standards, to provide a secure, safe, comfortable and attractive environment for our staff and students. As part of this, you will maintain effective administration procedures and systems for all janitorial activities. You will support the security of the premises and its contents, including the operation of fire and burglar alarms, along with key holder duties. This will also involve undertaking porterage duties throughout the Campus, including the movement of furniture and equipment as required.

In order to be considered for this post, you must be educated to standard grade level, or equivalent, within English/Arithmetic, and have relevant experience of providing a professional and customer focused janitorial service. Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace is also essential, as is the ability to operate equipment and machinery safely, and carry out minor repairs to fixtures, fittings and equipment. Possession of full Driving Licence is also essential, while possession of a D1 Category licence would be advantageous

While the hours are variable and “as and when required,” successful applicants will be required for a week’s work for the purposes of receiving training, on a date to be agreed following completion of pre-employment checks.
