We are looking for a Business Development Manager to work with a global travel organisation who are looking to expand their london office.

We are looking for an individual who can meet the following criteria-

" To bring new business, primarily in the form of small to medium size corporate accounts into the agency.

" Once the agency has established a good corporate client base, to supplement the above with leisure travel from these corporate accounts.

" To call on and service existing corporate accounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Sales

To make the required number of contacts to prospective corporate clients, resulting in appointments with corporate travel decision makers, group leaders, and human resource decision makers. Delivery of presentations and closed sales, resulting in targets being met and increased turnover for the agency.


Produce Weekly Sales Reports

The Business Development Manager is expected to meet daily with the Managing Director and produce weekly sales reports tracking and monitoring sales calls and results.

MAINTAINING A DATABASE

To implement where necessary and maintain an accurate and up to date database of current and possible clients.


DRAW UP AND IMPLEMENT A MARKETING PLAN

To work with the Managing Director in producing and implementing an annual marketing plan. Ensuring compliance with the marketing plan, and updating this where necessary.

INDUSTRY SEMINARS/EXHIBITIONS

The Business Development Manager is expected to attend presentations and seminars presented by travel suppliers throughout the year. The Business Development Manager is also expected to help arrange and attend relevant trade fairs/exhibitions to promote the company and bring in new business.

REPORTS TO: Managing Director

PERSON SPECIFICATION

" Minimum of 3 years` experience in business to business sales.
" Excellent organisation skills.
" Excellent people and communication skills.
" Excellent account management skills.
" Excellent presentation skills.
" Self motivated.
" Computer literate.
" Ideally a Car owner.
" Full clean driving license.
" Willingness to learn about the travel industry and keep up to date with the relevant changes.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Basic Salary: £20,000- £24,000 per annum.

Commission: 10% of profit generated from new sales that you bring into the business for a period of 12 months.

Mileage: When using your personal car to attend business meetings, you will be reimbursed for your mileage and the wear and tear of your vehicle at a rate of 40p per mile. This rate is in line with the current Inland Revenue Allowances. You will be required to keep a mileage log
