Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as a Senior Support Worker in Neath. This is a part time role, working 18 hours per week in a community setting.

About the role 
Senior Support Workers provided one-to-one support to a child or adult who has been born with sight and hearing impairments – known as congenital deafblindness. You will be there to enable the individual to experience and join in the world around them as much as possible. In this role, you will be supporting a lady with congenital rubella to access the community and take part in activities such as walking, swimming, attending coffee mornings and arts and crafts, alongside supporting her at home with sensory activities.

About you 
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with and providing practical support to, people with learning disabilities and / or multisensory impairments. The successful applicant does not need to have British Sign Language Level 1, although will need to commit to work towards this qualification.

*For genuine occupational requirement we are looking to appoint female candidates only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

A full UK driving licence, including the ability to drive a manual car, is an essential requirement for this role.
