As a Change Manager in Elsevier Technology you will play a key role in ensuring change initiatives meet the business agreed objectives, using a range of change management approaches and methodologies as appropriate. You will act as a champion for change across multiple initiatives and will deliver by working closely with stakeholders across technology and the business to build strong, effective working relationships. You will input into business cases and will need to ensure you are involved from early stages and throughout the lifecycle of an initiative to assess situations, taking employees and business aims into consideration, creating, measuring and carrying out plans that maximize employee adoption and usage. They will help to minimize resistance and to sensitively communicate potential alterations including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. Required skills and experience:
- Extensive experience of change management and project management involving critical business systems for a Fortune 500/FTSE company
- Highly evolved stakeholder management & communication skills
- Effective decision-making and leadership style based on political awareness and personal credibility
- Ability to thrive in a highly complex organisation where multiple dependencies exist and a shared-resource model where resource conflicts are common
- Creative problem-solving skills related to the context of complex global change programmes
- General consultancy skills with demonstrable ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Deep understanding of communication and engagement trends, emerging practices, digital communications, and an ability to promote innovative ideas and solutions in change communication
- Ability to develop communications in a range of media, including written, graphic, web, social media and face to face channels
- Good level of practical experience in using mixed methods appropriately, eg. Agile and iterative approaches where appropriate within a larger Programme
- Continuous improvement/Kaizen experience
- Good understanding of contemporary project delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence
- An ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Solid understanding of change models
- Experience in the digital economy and data driven decision making
- Experience in analytics in the digital domain
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience within publishing domain
- Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenge
- Experience with large-scale organizational change effort
- Change management certification desired
