About The Role

We have an opportunity for a driven, energetic and customer-focused Consultant in the Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles (ULEV) & Energy team.

The Group develops solutions for national and international clients in the areas of Intelligent Transport Systems, Ultra Low Emission Vehicles, Public Transport and Non-Motorised Transport. We're at the leading edge of this technology and this role is an opportunity to represent the business in client engagement and development, with an aspect of technical delivery.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Working in the ULEV & Energy team you will use your experience of working with charging points and charging networks, installers, charging point users and land owners to contribute to bids and delivery of existing business. You will be providing technical expertise to the team in this subject matter, writing reports, carrying out literature reviews and undertaking data analysis. You will be working on projects that help to shape policy and influence the deployment of current and next generation of vehicle and charging technology.

Roles and responsibilities will be adapted to suit those with greater experience, higher degrees and/or chartered status. The main duties of the role will include:

  • Delivering technical advice in ULEV research and consultancy projects
  • Contribute your charging infrastructure experience to projects in the UK & internationally.
  • Building strong relationships with customers to generate repeat work
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Developing high quality proposals for new work
  • Supporting or being responsible for the delivery of high quality technical deliverables

Skills & Experience

To be considered you must be credible and authoritative in the area of charging points and the charging of Plug-In Vehicles.

You must also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Hands on experience with domestic and public charge point installation & management.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirement for charge point installations.
  • Understanding of issues surrounding charge point location selection, planning permissions and grid connection.
  • A desire for technical excellence and innovation, particularly in the area of electric vehicles
  • The ability to learn and apply knowledge to new topics and areas of work
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Self-motivation

Qualifications

A graduate degree or equivalent is essential, and one in a subject relevant to the subject area would be an added advantage

Communication Requirements
