Hollies Day Nursery, Mapperley is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Preschool Room Leader. Are you driven, can lead by example and do you love working with children?

You will be joining an established team of practitioners with child development at their hearts. You must be have a minimum of 2 years experienced as a qualified level 3 practitioner and focused on your on professional development.

The successful candidate will be able to lead a team of 5 practitioners, have an in-depth knowledge of the COEL, EYFS and be able to demonstrate an ability to form excellent relationships with parents, staff, children and external agencies. The successful candidate will be NNEB, Cache Level 3, NVQ Level 3 (Childcare) qualified. DBS and Suitability check will be required for the successful candidate.

Essential Knowledge:

·        Early Years Foundation Stage specifically Characteristics of Effective Learning

·        Every Child Matters

·        Understanding and practical experience of day care for young children

·        Understanding and practical experience of child development

·        Different parenting styles

·        Legislation and the inspection process for day care settings

·        Planning for children for individual children’s needs

·        Equal opportunities

And Skills:

·         To communicate confidently with a wide range of people, such as parents and outside agencies

·         To work independently and to manage own time efficiently

·         To supervise and motivate a team

·         To create and maintain basic systems for childcare records

·         To promote positive relationships with the parents/carers of the children

 

Qualifications:

·         At least a level 3 in childcare

·        Other qualifications in childcare would be assessed and considered

Desirable:

·        Computer literacy skills (such as word, excel and outlook)

·        Practical experience

·        Foundation Degree in Early Years
