Service Van Technician

I am currently looking to recruit a Service Van Technician for a busy commercial garage in Basingstoke

What will be asked of the candidate.

Carry out Servicing and Repairs to customer vehicles and equipment, both off site and on site
Provision of 24 hour Call-Out on a rotational basis
Completion of training when necessary
Working closely with the Workshop Supervisors
Other general duties required by management
Good workmanship is recognised and reported back by our customers.

Salary

Starting rate of pay from GBP14.50 per hour depending on experience. Pay is reviewed on completion of the probationary period. A fully equipped Service Van is provided.

Holiday

20 days plus public holidays, then one extra day every year after 5 years service up to a maximum of 25 days.

Hours of work

Normal working hours will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, normally between the hours of 08:00 - 16.30 with a minimum of 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. Weekday, weekend and bank holiday overtime will be required.
Service Van Technicians will also work as part of an on-call rota. This is 24 hours for a period of 7 days at a time. The frequency of this will depend on how many technicians are on the rota at any one time.

Overtime

Weekday overtime will be paid at time and 1/3.
Saturday overtime will be paid at time and ??.
Overtime on Sundays and Bank Holidays will be paid at double time.
Call-outs are paid at GBP25.00 per out of hours call out
