Manufacturing Futures have partnered with a furniture manufacturer to help expand its Design team. Are you looking for a new design role to push your career within the furniture manufacturing industry?
On offer for the successful CAD Technician is the opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business with a relaxed working environment coupled with a family feel. Joining an already successful design, the CAD Technician will be working with other members of the R&D team to develop products through the process from analysis of concept, through costings and proof of viability to product introduction.
CAD Technician, Role and Responsibilities, CAD Engineer, Design Technician, Design Engineer, Designer
- Producing accurate piece part drawings, bills of materials, purchased part specifications and general assembly drawings for use in all stages of manufacture
- Using existing experience and research of new production methods and to find fresh solutions to a range of technical challenges
- Identifying and implementing improvements to products and processes on a continual basis and producing all relevant new documentation
- Liaising with buyers, marketing, sales and the service team to ensure targets are met and to maintain excellent relationships externally and internally
- Providing technical support and advice to colleagues and alternative product solutions to satisfy customer specific needs.

- Experience using AutoCAD 3d to an advanced level
- Strong communication skills in a variety of media
- Reactive problem solver
- Commercial awareness
- Administration accuracy and attention to detail
- Methodical and accurate approach to work
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work within tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Strong multi-tasking skills
