My client are a supply-chain SME who have recently been awarded a contract to procure, process and supply various types of equipment such as Electrical, Medical and Firefighting and other items including Clothing and various Raw Materials to the Ministry of Defence after being awarded a contract worth GBP7-8 billion over 13 years.
Role outline
The role of the Acquisition Safety and Quality Support is to provide secratarial support to project teams within a procurement organisation that is purchasing general commoditised items for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). You will be responsible for reviewing Safety and Environmental Cases and participating in Safety & Environmental Panels.
Suitable individuals will have a mixture of the following skills/experience
* Ability to review accidents and equipment failure reports from multiple sources to determine trends and provide advice to project teams and customers on remedial action.
* Knowledge of, or ability to apply the principles of Defence Standard (Def Stan) 00-056 and the MOD Acquisition Safety & Environmental Management System (ASEMS).
* Experience of the MOD Air regulatory environmental or working in a MOD Air Commodities Team would be desirable.
* Ability to identify and analyse risk and determine strategies to reduce to As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) or Best Practicable Environmental Option (BPEO).
* Experience in producing or managing safety risk/hazard logs or register.
