A bit about the Team:

This role sits within the Financial Accounting and Reporting team, our key focus is to ensure we have a robust and appropriate financial control environment and suitable processes are in place to deliver accurate financial information in a timely manner for both internal and external reporting purposes.

The main responsibilities of this role is to assist the Financial Accounting team during the build and implementation of Truly Global Retail (TGR). This role will provide additional support within the Stock team as we transition and responsibilities will vary during this time to assist in month end tasks and analysis as required by the Senior Finance Manager. There are no direct reports for this role but the successful candidate will be expected to support analysts within the Financial Accounting team.

Financial Accounting and Reporting team is an important function that requires those with vision, the ability to deliver change and, of course, results. This role interfaces with other areas of Finance, including Treasury, Accounts Payable, Finance Systems, Tax and Commercial Finance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to the Senior Finance Manager (Stock) during the build and implementation of Truly Global Retail (TGR) on a wide range of areas including month end close, reconciliations and process improvements
  • Provide additional assistance to the stock team with month end procedures as required including stock reconciliation, stock provision, jobber stock and stock count reviews
  • Assist in maintaining stock related accounting policies and processes, ensuring robust and consistent documentation and timely reviews and updates
  • Work with the Financial Reporting team in delivering information to the external auditors for interim and year end results and assist with any stock related audit matters
  • Assist with the financial accounting review of any new business projects impacting the stock team ensuring correct accounting treatment is applied in accordance with IFRS accounting standards
  • Work with Operational business areas to identify potential process and control weaknesses and continually develop improvements.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager with any ad hoc analysis work to provide business insight and ensure that objectives and deadlines are met


Skills and experience you will need:

Experience
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
  • 1-2 years PQE and previous retail experience (preferable)
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting standards and practical application
  • Experience of carrying out or providing information for external and internal audits
  • Experience in producing high-quality analysis and reporting
  • Experience of working with non-financial stakeholders across multiple business areas
  • Experience of working with senior levels within a business and adopting a professional approach at all times
