Manufacturing production engineer

Job Description

We are a small early stage company (2 1/2 years) with a new product that has been much more successful than originally expected. This has resulted in a very small team (5) trying to manage numerous suppliers whilst at the same time addressing the normal design, production and quality issues that arise when bringing new products to the market. We are seeking someone to strengthen the production team and help bring order out of chaos. The product is exported worldwide and sales are increasing. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a record of success with producing new products and must have experience of working in a very small team preferably in an SME rather than a large company. Skills required include mechanical design and manufacture, good computer skills, production and stock control, problem-solving, a working understanding of electrical circuits and components, and general production processes. Experience and skills that would be an advantage but not vital include: the ability to use 3D CAD, basic knowledge of composites and moulding, sheet metal fabrication, electronic control systems, ability to manage and assist young graduates, a methodical approach to daily tasks and problem-solving.

Salary is Negotiable depending on experience and ability
