System Design Engineer (Electronic, Electrical) Wigan
LOCATION: Wigan
SALARY: GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 per annum
START DATE: asap
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
This is an opportunity to work for a Wigan based electronics company who specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke protection and control backup systems for the utilities market.
Your role as a Systems Design Engineer will be to take customer specifications & queries and then generate a suitable design (selecting the relevant parts & creating a drawing to show the system design).
This role will allow you to take full responsibility for a system design as well as provide all supporting documents.
You will have the opportunity to travel to some customer sites to support the Sales and Test team.
For this role you should be qualified to HND (or equivalent or with suitable experience) and should have an understanding of Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
1. Take customer specifications and then create a system design in a 'cost effective' manner. This means selecting parts from the parts lists.
2. You will then draw sketches of the system design (Excel / Autocad LT and PEDatabase / Access experience would be desirable)
3. The systems you will be designing will have Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical elements. Knowledge in any of these areas is suitable
4. You will prepare Installation, Operation & Maintenance manuals (you should be able to use Microsoft Word)
5. You will support the test department in trouble shooting/problem solving on production problems/equipment repair.
6. You will assist Sales with quotations/ costs
