Avenue are currently recruiting a Maintenance Office for a well-established Edinburgh based client.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to provide a painting and decorating service and ensure the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

To provide a full range of painting & decorating and general repairs service for the buildings, internally and externally, including preparation for decorating as well as decorative repairs, according to the 'Estate Strategy, Plan an ongoing maintenance programme.
Review work order priorities on a daily basis and ensure that they are serviced each day.
Working closely with the Senior Cleaning Operative, provide support with assembling and installing furniture within cottages and other spaces and be proactive in identifying where repairs are required.
Schedule regular maintenance & repair activities and provide general maintenance assistance, as and when required. Perform routine maintenance & repairs tasks such as repairing doors/windows, changing bulbs etc. in conjunction with the maintenance team.
To carry out caretaking duties, according to the Estate Task Manual.
To assist with grounds maintenance, as and when required.
To ensure Estate resources, machinery and equipment are used and maintained according to legislation and guidelines.
Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrate a working knowledge of Risk and COSHH assessment applicable in own work area as well as moving and handling techniques.
To attend supervision, training and other meetings, as required.
To undertake any other duties delegated by the Estate Manager or Head of Finance & Estates, which are consistent with the role of Maintenance Officer (Decorating & Repairs).

The Candidate

Previous relevant experience required, with good all-round skills required for the post.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, be proactive and have a customer focussed approach.
