Recoveries Advisor - Debt Recovery Unit

We currently have a new opportunity for a Debt Recovery Advisor within our DRU department to join our accomplished and dedicated team in Redhill.

The Debt Recovery Unit deals with all customer agreements post termination once they have been processed by the Arrears Call Centre or if next actions are required at an early stage due to special circumstances. The team are responsible for liaising with external agencies for cash collection and vehicle recovery and repossession. In addition, they act as the point of contact for other external agencies such as the police, solicitors (ours and our customer`s), as well as auction house involved in the sale of our recovered assets. They will be responsible for accounts between 78 and 120 days overdue at which time non performing accounts will either be sold to an external company or passed to external agents for additional action.

Main Objectives

" Receive inbound and make outbound calls using an automated dialling system to ensure maximum contact
" Proactive telephone contact with debtors to attempt timely resolution and inform of next steps/actions
" Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation and regulatory bodies
" Adhere to company procedures and policies.
" Administer and maintain customer agreements, including chasing of failed arrangements.
" Negotiating suitable monthly repayment arrangements
" Liaise with external customers to resolve complex queries
" Liaise with agents regarding voluntary terminations and repossessions
" Liaise with solicitors regarding customer agreements
" Negotiate with nominated third parties both verbally and in writing.
" Trace and locate debtors
" Prepare debtors agreements for legal action
" Working and monitoring queues

What You`ll Need
" Previous debt collection experience preferred.
" Computer Literacy and keyboard skills
" Sound numeracy skills.
" Confident telephone manner.
" Strong negotiating skills.
" In depth knowledge of company and regulatory policies.
" Ability to work under pressure.
" Attention to detail.
" Tenacity when negotiating for a pre-determined outcome.
" Persuasive, persistent and self motivated

Salary - £18500 plus the quarterly IIS

Hours of work

The new shift rota equates to an average of 35 hours a week as follows:-

WK 1 - 9 am to 5pm
WK 2 - 10am to 6pm
WK 3 - 9am to 4pm + Saturday 9am to 2pm
