BDS are now recruiting for a handy person to oversee the day to day maintenance of a several supported living schemes for older people in Droyslden and Clayton.
Day to day duties will include
• Small repairs - putting up curtain rails, shelves and pictures
• Safety measures - fitting smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and grab rails
• Security - door and window locks, door chains and door viewers
• Energy efficiency checks - installing draught excluders, radiator heat reflectors and energy efficient lightbulbs
The ideal person will have previous experience working in a handy person or maintenance position within the public sector i.e. Supported/Sheltered Housing, School, care home, local authority.
Hours are between 15 - 25 per week depending on preference. We are looking for someone who can start straight away and the rate of pay is GBP8.54ph. You will need your own transport and mileage is paid at 45p
