DT Technician

Salary: GBP19,881 FTE GBP9,170 per annum Pro-Rata

Hours: Part Time: 3 days per week; 19.5 hours

39 weeks per year

From September 2018

To co-ordinate the use of practical resources and maintain facilities, providing assistance, advice and practical support in meeting the needs of the DT curriculum, including the support of students and liaising with teaching staff and support staff.

You duties will include:

• Preparing materials resources, tools and equipment prior to lessons, ensuring correct quantities for class etc
• Being familiar with the teaching content in order to anticipate classroom activities
• Providing technical assistance and support to teachers and students during practical lessons, as directed by the class teacher, and ensure that standards of health and safety are met
• Assisting class teachers in the creation and maintenance of inspiring displays for everyday and special events within School.
• Undertaking daily maintenance of resources and equipment and adhering to safety standards

You should be:

• Qualified to level 2 or above in related field or equivalent with relevant work experience
• Experienced with working with young people
• Knowledgeable of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools
• Able to organise your own workload and priorities on a day to day basis
• Committed to safeguarding & promoting the welfare of children and young people
