Author Operations & Services Senior Specialist

Oxford, UK

The Role:

With your talent for handling authors as customers, and your journal publication expertise, you'll work with our product development teams to improve author services platforms, systems and processes. In effect, you'll act as the voice of the author - going back to the business to determine the new process. Working on new projects and author initiatives, you'll then test the functionality so it does what's needed.

There's also an information management and reporting element to the role, and a senior support aspect - you'll step in when the issue is too complex for the front line.

The Requirements:

  • As long as you can interact with editors and authors, and have good knowledge of traditional and emerging technology-based production processes, we can train you on the customer service side. Then you'll be uniquely placed to succeed in a role that's very varied and in a business that's changing all the time.
  • Relevant qualification (degree or equivalent) in a related field and/or Production Editor experience.
  • Understands the author experience, knowledge of traditional and emerging new technology-based production processes.
  • Prior knowledge of what data is available in the Wiley Information Systems (e.g., CORE, BPM, BMIS, COLTRANE, the Wiley Portal, etc.) and is able to manipulate and use this data to work productively and to make informed decisions would be desirable.
