Technician – Carpentry and Joinery BURY68546
Bury
Salary £16,927 - £19,264

Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.

In addition to over 900 students progressing to university, 200 students choose to study a Higher Level course available at the College’s University Centre each year.

They now have an opportunity available for a Technician to join them to provide support in the Carpentry and Joinery workshops and classrooms in a way that supports the lecturing staff and enables students to gain good practical skills.

Providing technical support in the workshops and classrooms whilst classes are in practical sessions, you must ensure that the areas are kept clean, organised and are safe working environments for staff and students and set up specialist machines and equipment when required.  This equipment must be maintained and serviced to an approved maintenance schedule which will be your responsibility, along with the ordering and accurate stock records and inventories for all materials, tools, equipment and machinery.

With at least three years’ experience working in Carpentry and Joinery, you must have experience of using and maintaining wood working machinery and ideally have knowledge of current practical assessment requirements for Carpentry and Joinery qualifications.  The ability to repair and maintain Carpentry and Joinery equipment and machinery and assist with the construction of Carpentry and Joinery assessment resources is essential.

Closing date for applications: 21st August 2018
