Exciting opportunities have arisen to join our team as a Multi Skilled Operative / Handy Person based in Exeter.
Within the role you will be responsible for completing minor repairs within older persons’ accommodation and for elderly or disabled tenants as required by our client whilst working effectively within a consistent operation repairs service.
Liaising with the Mears call centre you will enable a response to emergencies and other works within a given time period, whilst ensuring the work has been carried out both effectively and efficiently. You will complete the works to a high-quality standard in order to maximise first time fix criteria, appointment objectives alongside improving resident satisfaction.
You will be able to submit presentable and accurate paperwork which includes PDA data base information coupled with using SOR and descriptive works, in order to cost works which are being completed. Within the role you will work within a busy repairs/ voids team environment, reporting individual actions from site guaranteeing maximum service delivery and high levels of resident satisfaction at all times.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the relevant trade qualifications or 5 years’ experience in 3 or more trades, preferably Carpentry, Plumbing, Tiling and minor gardening works. Experience within social housing is also essential.
With strong time management skills, the Multi Skilled Operative will have experience of preparing all paperwork including timesheets, accurate descriptions of work carried out, estimating repair requirements, trades alongside job coding and costing. Moreover, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the ability to succeed. Successful Operatives will also be added to the branch out of hours rota.
Candidates for this role must hold a full valid UK driving license
