Job Title: Support/Development Chef
Location: Based in Birmingham with travel to sites in Manchester, Leeds & Glasgow- train travel paid for
Salary: GBP26k - GBP28k dependent on experience
Hours of work: 40 hours per week as required mainly Monday-Friday occasional weekends

Studio Venues are looking for a dedicated support/development chef to assist in the smooth running of their four conference venues across the UK. The role will be mostly based in Birmingham, but will require the candidate to support the business as per corporate requirements and will require time working away to achieve this, normally minimum 8 weeks per year, hotel & travel expenses paid. Working under the guidance of the Group Manager, the role will be ideal for someone wanting to develop their career. We are looking for a strong, commercially minded Chef with excellent craft skills to work within this prestigious group and progress their career at these awarding winning Venues

Responsibilities of role

With this role you will be part of the senior management team across the sites, based in Birmingham you will cover holiday and sickness across the portfolio of conference centres. As Support/ Development chef you will need to ensure that the quality of the food is to the highest standard and the service runs on time, you will be customer lead and provide excellent customer service at all times with the ability to delegate tasks to team members and ensuring they are successfully completed. you will want to work with quality fresh ingredients and have a good knowledge of food trends as well as attention of detail and being very hands on.

What we are looking for

-A real foodie with passion and enthusiasm for fresh food and great service driven by excellence and attention to detail
-Have a proven track record of successfully managing a kitchen and front of house teams plus developing a team in exceeding expectations ideally within a conference venue/ large volume high end contract caterer
-you to be both creative and innovative demonstrating current food service trends
-Naturally outgoing and energetic with an ability to train and inspire with strong leadership skills required
-Financially astute and an ability to work within budget and contract targets
-Demonstrate confidence with a can do attitude, displaying a positive, friendly and informal manner with other team members
-Must be flexible and willing to travel.
-Showing a sense of urgency and actions requests quickly.
-The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HACCP/ food hygiene, a flair for innovation and food trends with exceptional kitchen skills and experience in menu development and costing
