Despatch Operative
Gloucester
Temp to Perm
GBP8.00 to GBP9.00 per hour
Evening Dispatch Operative / Forklift Driver required in Hardwicke, working 37.5 hours per week, normally between the hours of 2.00pm and 10.00pm Monday to Friday. Overtime or changes to working hours may be required to meet business demands.
The Dispatch Operative is responsible for making sure all orders are despatched for delivery correctly. The role involves being part of a pro-active effective team, improving efficiency, increasing and maintaining productivity.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
o Demonstrate by example the way tasks should be done.
o Check for quality control and implement key quality check areas
o Continually look to improve processes.
o Achieve targets and improve despatch productivity.
o Ensure the working area and surrounding areas meet health and safety regulations.
o Improve communication and information flow at shop floor level.
o Give feedback and assist management with performance and personnel.
o Maintain a permanently clean and tidy work environment in all areas.
Additional Responsibilities:
o Work closely with Order administration and Transport to ensure vehicles are run efficiently.
o Control of efficient waste segregation.
o Involvement in cycle counting and inventory control.
Knowledge and Skill:
o Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
o Counter-balance forklift licence
o Full UK driving licence
Key Competencies:
o Be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times
o Be a good team player and understand the reasons behind this.
o Have the ability to communicate ideas
Pay and Shift times:
GBP8.25 per hour - Pre 12 weeks
GBP8.74 per hour - Post 12 weeks
