The Role

We are currently recruiting a senior associate based in London with the capability to run a range of contentious matters for energy, mining and commodities clients, including litigation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution. Examples of the type of work that the team is handling at the moment include a LCIA arbitration for a joint operating agreement dispute, an ICC arbitration relating to a drilling contract for the provision of drilling services offshore West Africa, multiple adjudications and parallel court litigation arising out of the construction of a waste to energy plant, advising on a force majeure claim under a Contract for Difference, acting for a global supermajor in litigation relating to the supply of aviation fuel,and advising on capacity issues for a major gas pipeline.

Skills and Experience Required
  • A strong academic background
  • Experience of a range of energy, mining and commodities matters, including litigation and arbitration
  • The ability to run cases with the appropriate level of supervision for a senior associate
  • Strong communication skills
  • A good project manager with good delegation skills
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to build excellent relationships with clients
  • Excellent team player
