Smart Recruitment have a really exciting opportunity to become part of a rapidly expanding family company, where the products that they make are at the heart of everything they do. Their produce is already well regarded as the best in its class, and with their reputation growing the business is set for a rapid expansion over the next 24 months. As a result the company are looking for a Bakery Manager to become part of their small close knit team.
The company manufacture high end food items, that need to be made according to specific procedures, and then stored, weighed, packed and despatched correctly, to ensure their product is enjoyed by consumers who buy it from various locations across the UK - they make bespoke products for other companies to sell as their own, so creativity is actively encouraged.
The type of duties you will have include the following:
Receive recipe sheets from the operations manager and sign as checked and received
Responsible for ensuring that recipe sheets and relevant paperwork is completed in full
Ensuring all bakery machinery is being used to its optimum capacity
Reporting to Operations Manager any potential problems that may result in delays to production
Analysis of completed recipe sheets to check that yields are correct.
Ensuring correct members of staff in correct areas depending on skill level
Ensuring QAS is being followed in all areas
Ensuring staff are using machinery correctly and safely
Service/Repair machinery after a breakdown
Ensuring Staff are working efficiently and are following the production plan/recipe given
Ensuring staff are properly dressed-hairnets, clean gowns/aprons, safety shoes are being worn
Ensuring mobile machinery e.g. floor scrubber is being flushed, drained and stored properly after use
Learning how to use all new machinery
Setting up chocolate machinery for production/NPD
Ensuring chocolate parameters are correctly set up and resolve any issues eg blooming, severe cracking
Training staff on how to correctly handle chocolate including tempering, storage and cleaning
Setup staff on packing/weighing new products into packaging
The position is 06.00 - 15.00 Monday to Friday, but because this is a role where you are making products to order, some flexibility with hours worked may be required, but only to make sure the job is done and their customers continue to be delighted.
