Manufacturing - Permanent - Warwickshire- Attractive - Production Engineer
A Production Process Engineer is required to join and Innovative Aerospace manufacturing facility on a Permanent Basis. The successful Production Process Engineer will join the Production Department and report to the Cell Production Manager.
The Production Process Engineer will implement Manufacturing Improvements using Continuous Improvement Methods to identify, resolve and improve HSE, quality and production issues. The Production Process Engineer will work within the manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements and resolve engineering issues to maximise capability, productivity and machine availability.
Responsibilities and Experience Required of the Production Process Engineer
* Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policy's and Regulations
* Assist the Quality Engineer and production teams in identifying and resolving quality issues
* Promote the culture of tools and techniques to achieve process improvements
* Evaluate cost savings and Monitor, evaluate and improve machine capabilities
* Oversee the purchase, qualification, delivery, relocation and disposal of assets in production
* To plan, organise and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) & Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
* To plan, organise and execute the safe delivery and movement of assets
* To manage projects using a structured methodology
* To maintain project action plans and communicate status, ensuring project progress
* Ensure process evaluation activities are captured in formal engineering reports
* Update or create documents and procedures for the Quality Management System
* Liaise with other departments including central maintenance/facilities and purchasing
* Support Cell Leader on productivity and quality issues as and when required
* Be prepared to travel to suppliers and other sites within the group
* Organise and manage sub-contractors in conjunction with Cell Leaders
* Prepare and issue Engineering drawings ensuring correct revision control is maintained
* Liaise with purchasing to ensure changes to tooling are controlled through stores system
* To support and share knowledge and best practice with other manufacturing areas/sites.
Qualifications & Requirements of the Production Process Engineer
* Six Sigma Green Belt knowledge and qualification is desirable
* Relevant post qualification experience with a BTEC or HNC in an Engineering Discipline
* Working within Aerospace Manufacturing Industry is highly desirable
* Required to demonstrate customer focus, initiative and teamwork
* Be process driven with a fact and data based approach to problem solving
* Ability to understand technical operations and processes
* Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
* Proficient in the use of MS Project and CAD software
* The employee should demonstrate a good understanding of supplier/customer relationships
* A strong customer awareness and focus
