This is an exciting opportunity for a planning officer to join East Cambridgeshire District Council which is embarking on a period of growth, with a positive and pro-active approach to development. The District has internationally renowned heritage and environmental assets, together with new industrial projects, a major extension to the north of Ely, and major retail proposals. In order to help meet the growth challenges we face, we have a vacancy for a talented professional member of staff to join our team of committed planning officers.
Planning Officer - The Role:
The main focus of the post is to deal with a varied mix of planning applications and enquiries. You will be required to carry out site inspections, negotiate with applicants or their agents, liaise with statutory bodies and other consultees, draft committee reports and make presentations to the Planning Committee, when necessary.
Planning Officer - You:
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has an RTPI recognised qualification and planning experience. The Council operates a career grade scheme for Planning Officers and the starting salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
