We are currently looking for an experienced HGV Driver Class 2 to join our well-established client on a permanent basis in Reading, Berkshire.
You will be carrying out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within 50 miles radius of Reading ensuring driving is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in full compliance with road traffic regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
??Liaising with warehouse & customer personnel, to ensure that customer requirements are met.
??Ensuring that driving and delivery targets are achieved.
??Overseeing the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises, ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned without delay.
??Following best practices for fuel efficient driving
??Ensuring vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, and are operated in a safe manner.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
??Previous experience of working in a flexible, results oriented, team environment and have experience working in warehousing or a distribution business.
??Ability to use mobile equipment (FLT, overhead crane).
??Ability to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out.
??Competent in the use of Windows Office Packages
The working hours are 5.30am/6am - 3.30pm. Some flexibility regarding working hours required.
The pay rate is GBP11.50 an hour
