Job Summary:

Asour strategic Sales and Marketing business partner you will champion, developand implement property-wide strategies that deliver in all relevant businessgoals.

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for property reactive sales, outside of the London Sales Office(Event Booking Centre), proactive account sales and segment sales, local andsocial catering sales, business travel sales, reservation sales and destinationsales.

Youhave responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest and associatesatisfaction and the financial performance of the Hotel. Your role will be toimplement the brand's sales and marketing strategy and applicable brandinitiatives in all aspects of the Sales process.

Youwill lead on-property sales functions to build long-term, value-based clientrelationships that enables achievement of hotel sales objectives.

You will have a dual reporting relationship to the General Manager andthe Area Director of Sales and Marketing, and will be an integral member ofLondon Sales & Marketing community.

  • Focuses on and is responsible for thehotels top line revenue.
  • Develops and implements a sales strategythat utilizes on-property sales resources and leverages all above propertysales engines to deliver results.
  • Leads on property Initiates independentactivities to generate revenue when appropriate.
  • Works with revenue management andoperations department heads to ensure departmental sales and marketingstrategies are aligned with the overall hotel plan.
  • Where applicable, works in conjunctionwith Marketing & Partnerships Manager to proactively position and market theproperty and execute hotel specific campaigns, promotions, collateral, etc. todrive revenue and meet property objectives.
  • Works with Revenue Management to developsegment strategy for group, transient and catering; supports proper pricing,appropriate transient and group mix and ensures implementation of salesstrategy.
  • Addresses fluctuating market and economicconditions by partnering with Revenue Management to change sales strategy.
Guests First - ExtraordinaryService
  • Ensures sales and marketing informationprovided to the Operations departments is timely, accurate and enables propertyto meet or exceed guest expectations, create client loyalty and grow marketshare.
  • Ensures execution of applicable brandinitiatives in all Sales processes.
  • Develops a trusting and respectfulbusiness partnership with property ownership by meeting or exceedingexpectations in generating top line revenue. Strong communication andpresentation skills are essential

You'll need toknow your stuff:
  • Solid knowledge in the financial statements, data andoverall operations of the hotel business.
  • Ability to perform and recognise aspects of F&B proceduresin order to manage and resolve.
  • Clarity and understanding of the wider hotel disciplines,their performance measures and impact on the financial controls.
You'll be expectedto deliver on the following:
  • You will have full accountability forsales, profit, guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, operations and stockmanagement and will be required to monitor performance against budget.
  • Review reports and financial statements to determine F&Boperations performance against budget.
  • Coach and support operations team to effectively manage volumeand spend, wages and controllable expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with management contract and reportingrequirements as well as with standard and local operating procedures.
  • Ensure team members are cross-trained to supportsuccessful daily operations.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly andconsistently.
  • Ensure new hires participate in the department's orientationprogram.
  • Ensure new hires receive the appropriate new hiretraining to successfully perform their job.
  • Create appropriate development plans which develop teammembers based on their individual strengths, development needs, careeraspirations and abilities.
  • Conduct performance review process for employees.
  • Champion the hiring activities of your team, asappropriate.
