Our client is recruiting individuals at Senior Manager level with a proven track record in the management of Oracle technology enabled transformation programmes.
As a Project Manager you will work with the latest technologies and big-name companies on projects that are driving the future of those organisations. You will be helping to transform business – and that could mean being involved in any or every part of the process.
Their Senior Managers are expected to primarily work on client engagements, taking lead roles on change initiatives (delivery); you will also spend time developing solution propositions and responses to new opportunities (business development). There’s no limit to what you can get involved with or where you could be doing it. You’ll need to be fully mobile as you’ll work on client projects that could be anywhere in the country – or even the world. Ultimately, an open mind to take advantage of all of the opportunities on offer is essential.
About the role
This role will involve managing the delivery of Oracle enterprise application services and solutions to their consulting clients across the UK region, providing an end-to-end journey for clients to move to the Cloud, encompassing strategy and business case, target operating model, infrastructure and application transformations as well as operations. The role has responsibility helping clients migrate from an on-premise solution to the Cloud, including the optimisation and realisation of benefits. The project manager leads moderately-sized teams and workstreams, demonstrating the wide range of multi-disciplinary skills required to deliver change through Cloud services: from customer insight and user experience to technology, analytics, security, business change, organisation design, business case design and benefits delivery management.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering large-scale, Oracle technology-enabled change, with a good understanding of the technology domains relevant to Cloud transformation. Specific capabilities include:
- Understanding client requirements and seeking to fully address client needs
- Managing scope and the change control procedure
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships
- Reporting project progress to project sponsors and management
- Working through the business and operating model implications of Cloud transformation on the organisation, and in implementing successful business change
- Identifying quantifies and manages issues impacting the delivery of projects. Establishes clear goals and priorities needed to assess performance.
- Diagnosing problems from multiple angles and probing underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions
- Managing project budgets and forecasts
- Developing and maintaining project plans
- Using metrics and project plans to assess the success of the project and making necessary changes
- Building effective relationships with third-party delivery organisations through the process of sourcing, selecting, contracting and managing engagements with Cloud vendors
- Supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback
- Leading knowledge transfer and project postmortem for lessons learned and improving best practices
