Area Sales Manager - Civils & Drainage
Job Title: Area Sales Manager - Civils & Drainage

Area to be covered: Midlands
Remuneration: GBP42,500 + GBP7,000 Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Civils & Drainage will involve:
* Field sales position, selling a high end manufactured range of access covers (man hole covers), slot drainage and surface water drainage systems
* 60% of your time new business development, 40% account management
* 60% of your time selling to main contractors, (involved in the procurement and installation of drainage), civil contractors, groundworkers and D&B Contractors
* 40% back-selling into circa 50 builders merchants and civil & drainage merchants
* Responsible for an area achieving circa GBP1.8m-GBP2m, currently performing 15% behind budget
* Tasked with growing the area by 13%
* Working on projects including: civil projects, airports, retail parks, car parks, rail, highways etc.
* Loads of opportunities / leads to go at
* Working on projects from GBP1,000 up to GBP300,000, with an average of GBP25,000-GBP30,000
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Civils & Drainage with:
* Must have a proven technical field sales track record with civil contractors and distribution, ideally civil and drainage merchants
* Ideally have sold a civil or ground engineering related product
* Organised, used to project tracking (ability to follow projects through to completion)
* Excellent field sales / territory management
* Manufacturer or civil merchant field sales backgrounds considered
* Ability to manage territory like its your own business
* Contacts within contractors / civil background preferred
* Specific knowledge of access covers, slot drainage and surface water drainage is not required, as can be taught
* Technically minded, understanding of civil engineering and building industry routines
* Ideally able to read engineering drawing and to communicate technical information
