Job Summary
Our client specialises in the handling, storage and freight forwarding of temperature controlled commodities and is going through an exciting programme of growth including the development of a purpose built cargo and logistics facility. They are now seeking to recruit a General Manager who will oversee all aspects of this new facility.
Innovative and forward thinking with exceptional commercial acumen and strong people management skills, the successful candidate will be challenge to develop and deliver a first class cargo operation.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
• Overseeing the transition of existing operations to the brand new cargo terminal
• Primary responsibility for running the business
• Strive to achieve results and set targets
• Develop and implement the Company's business plan
• Cargo project lead on developing the business's customer requirements
• Proactively engage with relevant stakeholders
• Deliver industry leading customer service
• Identify opportunities and negotiate contracts with current and future customers
Skills and Qualifications
• Degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a related area
• Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
• Minimum of 3 years experience within a cargo industry or similar
• Ability to utilise MI, processes and technology to enhance quality of service
• Up to date knowledge on the legislative and regulatory framework within the regeneration arena
• Knowledge and experience of applications through grant funding schemes
