Instructor / Technician – Animal Management ASKT68398
Our client is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Newcastle and Penrith.
Joining them as an Animal Management Technician / Instructor (18.5 hours per week), you will assist with the organisation of the Animal Academy at Newton Rigg College and will oversee the care and welfare of the animals under the direction of the Senior Animal Technician and Senior Lecturer.
Assisting with the day to day routine husbandry and maintenance duties in the Animal Academy to ensure comprehensive welfare cover during the calendar year, you must support the planning and contribute to the provision of practical animal resources to meet the needs of the curriculum and promote the growth and development of the commercial activities of the Animal Academy.
Candidates for this role must hold a minimum of a level 3 Animal Management qualification (or equivalent) and have proven, practical experience of working with a variety of animals and of managing a collection of animals and the associated records.
Able and willing to develop your practical skills and verbally communicate effectively with students and colleagues at all levels, you must be flexible in your working hours and hold a full UK driving license.
