Principal Officer - Estate and Marine
SCP 33 - 36 £35,258 to £38,553

Reporting to the Asset Management Technical Services Manager, the Principal Officer, Estate and Marine, will lead in delivering all aspects of an integrated estates and marine engineering and civils function for existing and future assets. The post holder will be responsible for delivering Capital and revenue works via the team, and will produce technical reports and specifications as and when required.

The Principal Officer will manage a team of technical officers to deliver an effective and efficient estate maintenance function including civils and marine structures

The post holder will ensure all functions are delivered on time, within budget and conforms to any Client and organisational objectives.

Skills and Behaviours

Essential

  • Full Clean Driving Licence.
  • Computer literate with experience of the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of administering various forms of contract and their contract conditions and taking a commercial approach for contractors or consultant working across a range of building or civil or electrical or mechanical or marine works including D&B and partnering contracts.
  • Demonstrates promotion of positive attitude towards contractual and commercial applications and situations
  • Ability to self-manage and excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective team and partnership working skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with good influencing and oral and presentation skills.

Desirable requirements for the role;

  • Attained or working towards professional membership in a related profession e.g. MRICS
  • Estimating experience.
  • Familiarity of Merseytravel worksites/Tunnels geography.
  • Fully conversant with all DDA, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation and codes of practice.
  • Attendance at CPD seminars and presentations
