A Middlesbrough SEN school is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis from September 2018, initially for 6 weeks. However there is a strong possibility that the role will be extended until the end of the academic year.
The school caters for children, aged between 2 to 19 years with severe learning difficulties and multiple learning difficulties. This "good" school was praised in it's latest OFSTED inspection for helping SEN students make excellent progress in their personal, social and communication development. This outstanding school endeavours to meet the needs of every individual, and requires a teaching assistant who shares the same enthusiasm and passion for their role.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing personal care and support to individuals with a wide range of needs and disabilities. They will have good knowledge and understanding of how to care for and support individuals with special needs. As well as acting as a personal care assistant they will also support the academic progress of pupils within lessons. They will assist pupils in key stage 1 and 2 in their learning and provide pastoral support.
The ideal teaching assistant will -
* Have experience of working with or caring for children
* Have a C grade at GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
* Have an understanding of the role of Teaching Assistant
* Have experience working with pupils with SLD, MLD and ASC
* Have experience of delivering personal care
