Our client is a Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy providing services to a wide range of private and public sector clients throughout the UK. They offer a complete range of services from initial scoping studies through to onsite monitoring and management. As their team consists of both generalist and specialist scientists, they are able to cater for most ecological disciplines and cover a broad range of projects.
Due to an expanding client base, they are currently recruiting for a Senior Ecologist to be based in the Birmingham area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams of consultants on survey, EIA and habitat management projects from the initial stages through to completion. Other duties will involve report production and client interaction.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant first degree, at least one protected species licence and be a member of CIEEM. A proven track record of environmental statement preparation is essential as is experience of habitat survey and protected species work (including DEFRA licensing). A minimum of 5 years professional experience is essential as is an in-depth knowledge of current UK conservation legislation and the ability to convey this knowledge.
