Our chosen business partner are currently the global leader in the provision of high volume value recycling and re-commerce solutions for a range of hand-held technologies across the retail, consumer and business wireless landscape.
The role of the Processing Manager will take ownership of the Processing Operations Team and will strategically develop, manage and improve the processing capability of the business function. The role holder will optimise resource, safety on site, material and equipment to maximize production capability to ensure the function meets customer expectations with excellent quality and service. This will suit somebody from a manufacturing or distribution background
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively assess, propose, manage and develop continuous improvement projects and activities.
• Proactively and dramatically maximize efficiency of the processing function.
• Incorporate principles such lean thinking and 5S to continually improve the efficiency and productivity of the function.
• Develop and implement quality training programs across all departmental functions.
• Create and develop 'Best Practice' processing procedures to be implemented group wide.
• Continually assess, review and develop the Processing function considering business needs.
• Proactively problem solve to ensure customer SLA's and Quality standards are met.
• Ensure the processing team achieve if not exceed targets in all areas in line with SLA's and quality standards.
• Analyse the processes to identify weak points in the system, effectively root cause these issues and proactively propose appropriate solutions.
• Ensure professional and appropriate leadership, communication, motivation, recruitment, development, management and training of the team.
• Manage resource levels effectively in line with salary to sales budget to ensure correct staffing levels for required targets.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Compile relevant reports in a proactive, timely, accurate and professional manner.
• Standardise reporting in line with KPIs.
• Manage contractor site visits including permit to works, any required training and safe systems of work
• Manage the premises and services maintenance schedule
• Activate the Emergency Response Plan in the event that the plant or premises are damaged and/or cannot be occupied
• Manage the security and smoke cloak systems
Key Requirements:
• Experience in operational transformation using continuous improvement and lean principles.
• Demonstrable ability to effectively root cause issues.
• Proven track record of being target driven and driving for results based on data.
• High profile and visible leadership style.
• Solid experience in people development, engagement and motivation.
• previous experience of developing and implementing best practice.
• previous experience of managing basic fire safety and health and safety principles.
• Experience of single or multi-site site leadership in a production/manufacturing operational management environment gained within a fast-moving, lean processing, high customer service focused environment.
• Ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and managing ever changing priorities.
• Ability to lead, inspire, motivate and manage a team.
• Experience of all aspects of managing a team including prioritising teams workload, day to day management and delegation, managing investigation / disciplinary procedures, regular performance management and appraisals. Competent in recruitment processes and the training and development of team members.
• Experience in proactive problem solving of internal and external issues.
• Excellent IT skills and the ability to generate management information and reports using a number of applications/databases.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with other departments and managers at all levels.
• Must be able to liaise with external parties and customers in a professional manner.
