JSR Associates Ltd is looking to recruit a Commercial Analyst on behalf of our client. If you have advanced Excel skills and have good business acumen this could be the role for you. Full training will be given.

The main purpose of the role is to support the Pricing and Estimating Manager. You will assist in commercial analysis to ensure that prices are set at an appropriate margin and are competitive thus ensuring that the business achieves its profit objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the majority of daily estimating enquiries submitted via the external & internal sales team and linking with the relevant site Commercial Managers.
  • Return customer quotations to external sales team based on agreed target levels
  • Prepare estimates on major tenders for review with Estimating and Pricing Manager prior to submission
  • Update and monitor customer price files to ensure accurate up to date prices are being used in the business at all times
  • Ensure that the estimating system standards are maintained in regard to material price files, machine limits, run speeds, waste levels and general pricing rates
  • Produce regular daily / weekly / Monthly report base on business data as directed by the Estimating and Pricing Manager
  • Through data analysis identify poor margin jobs/Products/customers then with the support of the external sales team implement margin improvement strategies
  • Work with the sales team to produce commercial analysis for customer reviews as required

Qualities/Skills required:

  • Confident to work on own initiative and build a credible commercial knowledge
  • Analytical and able to demonstrate a good understanding of mathematics and calculus
  • Having good commercial acumen
  • Computer literate to an advanced level in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Good understanding of other Microsoft Products - Outlook, Power Point, Word and knowledge of Access database would be an advantage.
  • Able to adjust work rate to meet fluctuations in work load demands
  • Good interpersonal skill

Salary GBP18,000 - 20,000 per annum
