On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Production Team Leader to manage the nightshift in the machining and assembly department. As the 1st line manager; you will be expected to take full managerial responsibility for the personnel and operation of the shift; and forge strong working relationships with all internal key stakeholders within the business in order to meet the company objectives for Safety, quality and profitability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure compliance with the company health and safety policies and procedures - Including: Risk assessments, safety audits, PPE adherence, incident and accident reporting in accordance with set time frames.
* Ensure compliance with the company quality standards and procedures - Set up verification, dimensional check sheets, scrap and route cause analysis, drive and manage scrap reduction initiatives in line with the company KPI.
* Daily output vs plan - Manage, review, initiate recovery plan as required and continuously target improvements.
* Productivity by area - Manage, review, drive improvements in line with the company KPI.
* Manning calculations and justification in line with volume requirements and Standard hours
* Arrange/ensure personnel within the area of responsibility have received the required training prior to undertaking their duties. No task should be undertaken without the correct training and sign off.
* HR activities: Recruitment & selection of staff, appraisals, reviews, investigatory and disciplinary Hearings.
* OEE short interval schedule review of and action to be taken where required for failure to meet target.
* Improve and sustain continuous improvement initiatives in line with the 5's standard and maintain the disciplines and adherence to within the areas of responsibility.
* Ensure that compliance with shift patterns, break and lunch times is adhered to by all respective personnel directly reporting to the Team Leader.
CANDIDATE SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
Essential
* Experience of leading a team in a similar role.
* Experience working in a similar manufacturing environment, assembly and/or machine shop.
* Managing strict compliance to H&S policies and procedures.
* Managing strict compliance to QA policies & procedures.
* Track record of managing and working to daily production targets.
* Implementing and managing 5s initiatives.
* Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
* IT literate with the ability to manage Excel spreadsheets.
Desirable
* Trained to ILM Level 3 or a similar qualification in supervisory management.
* Trained to IOSH Managing Safely.
* Experience of writing lean manufacturing A3's reports.
* Expertise in executing 8D's, or using similar problem solving techniques.
* Experience using SAP or a similar MRP system.
HOURS: Monday - Friday: 2200 - 0600hrs
