Non-Woven Machine Setter


Circa GBP20,000 per annum


Our fast-growing client is currently recruiting for a Non - Woven Machine Setter. This role involves responsibility for the setting up and effective and efficient operation of the Non-Woven machinery to maximise its production capabilities.


* Manufacture works orders in line with works instruction ensuring effective/efficient production and quality of product in line with Works Orders
* Working with the Technical department to improve the quality of material produced from the plant
* Working with the Technical department to identify potential operating solutions to optimize performance of the plant
* Agree trials in liaison with the Technical department and work with the operators to conduct these trials, ensuring strict operating conditions and in accordance with Technical department instructions
* Investigate and determine the parameters of Operator responsibility in respect of upkeep of the machine
* Preparing SOP's and working with the Production and Quality Manager to implement these
* Supporting the teams of operators in the correct operation of the plant
* Identify any areas of processing non-conformance and escalate these to Management
* Undertake extensive training and coaching of Production Operatives to drive continuous upskilling of operators and ensure a consistent operation of the plant, in accordance with the defined SOP's.
* Carry out and record adjustments to the plant where required
* Accurately record processing parameters for QA purposes
* To wear PPE correctly at all times when on the shop floor
* To ensure quality standards are adhered to and met at all times
* To fully comply with your Health & Safety responsibilities at all times and report any hazards immediately to the Health and Safety Officer
* To undertake all reasonable duties assigned to you in a professional and timely manner

Minimum Previous Experience:

* Demonstrable experience of operating non-woven plant (carding line with mechanical entangling) in the manufacturing/textiles industry

* Understanding of fibre properties and effects that they have on to the process

Minimum Required Skills:

* Strong communicator - ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels

* Adaptability - able to use technical knowledge to apply to different process issues

* Previous experience with carbon fibre would be advantageous.
