Speech and Language Teaching Assistant - Job Specification

My client school is looking for a passionate Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to work in their warm and caring Junior School. You will be a graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 degree preferably that is based around Psychology/English/Linguistics/Communication/Speech and Language. You will preferably have previous classroom experience within a Primary school setting and have a calm and caring personality. You should be a compassionate individual who has a real drive to see others succeed and can deal with challenging situations in a calm, respectful manner

About the Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role

As part of this year long assignment, you will work under the guidance of Speech and Language Therapists to manage the learning of pupils at the school who have speech and language needs. You will be delivering and disseminating speech and language interventions to other members of staff. You will be working closely with the school SENCo and Teachers so the ability to develop effective working relationships is essential. You will be supporting the pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
