LOCATION: Mansfield

JOB TITLE: Registered Manager (Further Education Residential Service / Short Break Residential Service)

SALARY & BENEFITS: Up to GBP30k per annum depending on experience

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

THE COLLEGE: Portland College is a leading specialist college; working with disabled people to develop their employability, independence and communication skills. They are situated in a beautiful 32 acre woodland campus in the historic Sherwood Forest area of Mansfield , Nottinghamshire. They currently have an exciting opportunity for 2 Registered Managers to join them.

THE ROLE:There are currently 2 new roles available within the college in Mansfield, one working in the Further Education Residential Service and one in Short Break Residential Service. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for developing and the operational day-to- day management of either the Further Education Residential Service or the Short Breaks Residential Service ensuring its continued compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Working in partnership with other Registered Managers and the Head of Care you will ensure the provision of a high-quality service enabling individual needs and organisational priorities to be met in accordance with available resources.

As a Registered Manager responsibilities include: supervising staff according to the service configuration, promoting fundamental standards and working with the quality and standards manager to ensure that the service as a whole is delivering excellent practice. In addition, you will assist with costing plans and be responsible for increasing income, internal and external stakeholder meetings, ensuring targets are set and achieved and continuously working on programme development.

The ideal candidates would have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, or equivalent

Key experience essential for the Registered Manager role:
  • Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards
  • Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management or equivalent or be willing to work towards
  • Level 2 in English or willing to work towards this qualifications
  • Level 1 in Mathematics or be willing to work towards this qualifications
  • Experience of supervising staff members and delegating responsibilities is essential
