HEAD OF ICT DEPARTMENT

SERVICE HEADQUARTERS, CARMARTHEN

GRADE 15 -  £51,169 - £53,021

A vacancy has arisen as the Head of ICT Department within Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service based at Service Headquarters, Carmarthen. This role is 37 hours a week.

Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service is a progressive organisation and is constantly trying to improve service delivery as part of a broader efficiency agenda. In recent years we have upgraded many of our IT systems in support of our efficiency objectives and the adoption of cloud computing solutions such as Microsoft Office 365 has been one element of this.

However, in the ever-evolving world that is IT the Service cannot be complacent and there are many more technology related challenges for us to face. These include the further adoption of cloud based solutions, the integration of new business software systems and the implementation of the Emergency Services Network (ESN) which is a new radio and data network for all the UK ‘blue light’ services.

As our new full-time Head of ICT, you will manage and improve the existing ICT department and play an influential role in developing and delivering our future ICT Strategy.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for an astute and innovative ICT professional to work for a highly regarded public sector organisation that embraces technology and encourages innovation. Potential candidates must have proven management experience within an IT environment, a robust knowledge of existing and emerging IT technologies and the ability to develop and deliver strategic ICT objectives.

Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service is responsible for providing public safety programmes and emergency response cover for almost two thirds of Wales. It employs over 1,300 members of staff and has its headquarters in Carmarthen.

For further information regarding this post, please contact Corporate Head of Resources, Iwan Cray on 01267 226807.

Please be advised that applications are welcome in Welsh, and any applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

Completed application forms must be returned to Mrs Charlotte Holland, Human Resources Department, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Service Headquarters, Lime Grove Avenue, Carmarthen, SA31 1SP (c.holland@mawwfire.gov.uk), by no later than 1630 hours on 17 August 2018.

AIL-HYSBYSEBIAD

PENNAETH YR ADRAN TGCH

PENCADLYS Y GWASANAETH, CAERFYRDDIN

GRADD 15 –  £51,169 - £53,021

Mae swydd wag ar gael ar gyfer Pennaeth yr Adran TGCh yng Ngwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Canolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru, wedi'i lleoli ym Mhencadlys y Gwasanaeth yng Nghaerfyrddin. Swydd 37 awr yr wythnos yw hon.

Mae Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Canolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru yn sefydliad blaengar sy'n ceisio gwella'r modd y mae'n darparu gwasanaeth yn barhaus, a hynny yn rhan o agenda effeithlonrwydd ehangach. Yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf, rydym wedi diweddaru llawer o'n systemau TG i gefnogi ein hamcanion effeithlonrwydd, ac elfen o hynny yw mabwysiadu datrysiadau cyfrifiadura cwmwl, er enghraifft Microsoft Office 365.

Fodd bynnag, yn y byd TG, sy'n esblygu'n barhaus, ni all y Gwasanaeth fod yn hunanfodlon, ac mae llawer mwy o heriau'n ymwneud â thechnoleg yn ein hwynebu. Mae'r rhain yn cynnwys mabwysiadu datrysiadau pellach yn seiliedig ar gyfrifiadura cwmwl, integreiddio systemau meddalwedd busnes newydd, a gweithredu'r Rhwydwaith Gwasanaethau Brys (ESN), sef rhwydwaith radio a data newydd ar gyfer pob un o'r gwasanaethau 'golau glas' ledled y DU.

Yn rhinwedd eich rôl fel ein Pennaeth TGCh llawn-amser newydd, byddwch yn rheoli ac yn gwella'r adran TGCh bresennol, ac yn chwarae rhan ddylanwadol wrth ddatblygu a gweithredu ein Strategaeth TGCh ar gyfer y dyfodol.

Mae'r swydd hon yn cynnig cyfle rhagorol i unigolyn TGCh proffesiynol, craff a dyfeisgar weithio i sefydliad sector cyhoeddus uchel ei barch, sy'n croesawu technoleg ac yn annog arloesedd. Rhaid i ymgeiswyr posibl feddu ar brofiad rheoli blaenorol mewn amgylchedd TG, gwybodaeth gadarn am dechnolegau TG cyfredol a newydd, yn ogystal â'r gallu i ddatblygu a gweithredu amcanion TGCh strategol.

Mae Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Canolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru yn gyfrifol am ddarparu rhaglenni diogelwch cyhoeddus ac ymateb i argyfyngau ym mron dwy ran o dair o Gymru. Mae'r sefydliad yn cyflogi dros 1,300 o aelodau o staff, ac mae ei bencadlys yng Nghaerfyrddin.

Am ragor o wybodaeth am y swydd hon, cysylltwch â'r Pennaeth Adnoddau Corfforaethol, Iwan Cray ar 01267 226807.

Noder y croesewir ceisiadau yn Gymraeg, ac na fydd unrhyw geisiadau a gyflwynir yn Gymraeg yn cael eu trin yn llai ffafriol na chais a gyflwynir yn Saesneg.

I wneud cais, ewch i: http://www.mawwfire.gov.uk/Cymraeg/Gyrfau/Swyddi-Gwag-Presennol/Pages/default.aspx
