Role: CNC Setter Operator
JOB PURPOSE:
Setting and operating CNC Machining Centres and Turning Centres to maximise efficiency and utilisation. Manual machining, including turning, grinding, lapping and honing. Programming and proveout of work when required.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Setting and operating of CNC machines using the programs and tooling specified.
• Manual machining where necessary.
• Hand finishing of components where necessary.
• Maintaining and owning the quality of the products machined and adhering to company quality procedures.
• Following and maintaining all documentation standards required.
• Maintain housekeeping standards using 6S principles.
• Any reasonable task as directed by Mic Supervisor or Manager.
• To inspect and stamp approve the machining work of other team members.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Machine Shop Team, Production Engineering and Inspection.
PERSON PROFILE
The candidate should be numerate, literate, organised and possess a can-do attitude with a methodical approach to their work. They should be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team. They should show responsibility due to the traceable nature of our products.
EXPERIENCE / ACHIEVEMENTS Essential
A broad experience in CNC and Manual machining methods. Familiar with editing CNC Machine Tool Programs. Familiar with conventional and CMM methods of inspection.
Desirable
Apprentice served in a machining environment.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE Essential
1. A responsible attitude to our products, traceability etc.
2. Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately.
3. Methodical approach to their work.
EDUCATION I TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
1. Apprenticeship in a machining environment is desirable.
2. Formal training on Machine Tools desirable.
