Executive Assistant to CEO

Executive Assistant required to help a CEO in his role running his two businesses, and release time so that he can focus on developing the businesses further. 

About the companies…

Sports for Schools is a social enterprise that brings GB/Olympic athletes into primary schools to run events that inspire kids. Through the scheme, 1200 schools receive a visit from a top athlete who leaves a fitness circuit and delivers a motivational/inspirational assembly that creates memories that last a lifetime, attaching important messages to their visit. In the process Sports for Schools has inspired almost 2 million children, and raised £3 million for sports and PE equipment in primary schools.

Clubs for Schools is a hub for clubs that transforms the manner in which schools organise their extracurricular club provision. Clubs for Schools comes alongside both schools and providers, having brought together expert software developers with extracurricular club expertise. This enables schools to eliminate the overheads associated with managing extracurricular clubs while retaining control, and for coaches and small coaching organisations to automate their own process with similar overhead reduction benefits to themselves and improvements in the service they provide to schools.

What you’ll be responsible for…

The role necessarily need to be flexible, while overall is part-time (5 hours / day), and has the option of allowing the holder to take off the majority of school holidays.

Particular responsibilities are (though, as a small and growing organisation these are not limited to):

Top 3

  • Organising and managing calendar, travel, expenses, and related administrative tasks
  • Acting as first point of contact for all HR questions
  • Compliance, from health and safety to HR to other statutory requirements and company policies and procedures

And…

  • Office management
  • Filing and maintenance of company records
  • Management of new projects as and when they arise
  • Criminal records checks
  • Ad hoc analysis on spreadsheets or similar
  • Ad hoc research on topics that support the founder/CEO’s work
  • Conference, parties and other company event planning and organisation

The experience and skills the CEO is looking for…

  • Successful experience of working directly for director level individuals
  • High energy levels with cheerful disposition and the ability to work under pressure
  • Very strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Complete confidentiality and discretion
  • High initiative, flexible of mind, efficient and tenacious
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Proactive and efficient
  • Good at listening while also persuasive
  • Mature and calm under pressure
  • Like working in a small organisation
  • Strong interest in education, children and sports
  • IT skills: Outstanding word processing & Powerpoint, Good Excel
  • Highly literate and able to compose excellent English documents and correspondence
  • Studied to A level or degree level
  • 5+ years of work experience in relevant roles

Package

  • £25k-£30k basic Pro Rata (depending on hours / holidays) + discretionary company bonus (usually 10%-20%)
  • 5-10 weeks holidays plus public holidays
  • 4% employer contribution (2% employee)
