Private Sector Housing Officer

My client is based in both East Midlands & West midlands and are looking for a Private Sector Housing Officer to work within the Environmental Health and Housing Service. The private sector housing team deal with all aspects of regulation and enforcement of housing standards, fire safety, conditions and licensing of HMOs, mandatory disabled facility grants, discretionary housing renewal grants/loans, immigration inspections and energy efficiency.

If you are interested in applying for this role, my client would like you to have:-

* Experience of assessing housing conditions using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
* A knowledge of building construction and defects
* Experience of inspecting and licensing HMOs
* A knowledge of enforcement action and powers of entry under Housing Act 2004
* A knowledge of new legislation to deal with rogue landlords under the Housing and Planning Act 2016
* A knowledge of energy efficiency legislation in relation to privately rented properties
* Experience of administering disabled facility grants and housing renewal grants and loans
