Engineering Workshop Operative - Semi-skilled

One of the leading Train Engineering Businesses in the UK is looking for Engineering Workshop Operatives (Semi-skilled) to support the new contracts they are undertaking.

Based in Kilmarnock, they employ over 70 people in their 4 road, 14 vehicle capacity depot and as a business they pride ourselves on the quality of their work. They offer a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul and repair services to the UK rail sector, providing services on passenger trains and specialist infrastructure vehicles.

About the role…..
- A hands on environment, helping various trades in the stripping out of rail vehicles and refitting panels and components.
- Helping to refurbish train components (brushing, cleaning and painting)
- Ensuring the work area is kept clean and tidy with waste materials disposed of in the correct containers and areas.
- Working with the team in ensuring materials and tools are available for use and returned as required
- Experience in using hand, power and air tools

About you………
You will have some experience in working within an Engineering or Motor trade environment doing similar type work, but more importantly will be your willingness to step up to the day to day challenges by going the extra mile to do what needs to be done and taking pride in helping to produce a quality finish on the trains.
